"Cooling atomic ions with visible and infra-red light" F. Lindenfelser et al. New journal of physics, 19, 063041 (2017)
We show that a surface-electrode ion trap can be fully operated using only IR and visible light, and study in depth the settings required. This should facilitate optical integration for scaling ion trap quantum computers.
